Functional characterization of generalized Langevin equations

We present an exact functional formalism to deal with linear Langevin equations with arbitrary memory kernels and driven by any noise structure characterized through its characteristic functional. No others hypothesis are assumed over the noise, neither the fluctuation dissipation theorem. We found that the characteristic functional of the linear process can be expressed in terms of noise's functional and the Green function of the deterministic (memory-like) dissipative dynamics. This object allow us to get a procedure to calculate all the Kolmogorov hierarchy of the non-Markov process. As examples we have characterized through the 1-time probability a noise-induced interplay between the dissipative dynamics and the structure of different noises. Conditions that lead to non-Gaussian statistics and distributions with long tails are analyzed. The introduction of arbitrary fluctuations in fractional Langevin equations have also been pointed out

Non-equilibrium transition from dissipative quantum walk to classical random walk

We have investigated the time-evolution of a free particle in interaction with a phonon thermal bath, using the tight-binding approach. A dissipative quantum walk can be defined and many important non-equilibrium decoherence properties can be investigated analytically. The non-equilibrium statistics of a pure initial state have been studied. Our theoretical results indicate that the evolving wave-packet shows the suppression of Anderson's boundaries (ballistic peaks) by the presence of dissipation. Many important relaxation properties can be studied quantitatively, such as von Neumann's entropy and quantum purity. In addition, we have studied Wigner's function. The time-dependent behavior of the quantum entanglement between a free particle -in the lattice- and the phonon bath has been characterized analytically. This result strongly suggests the non-trivial time-dependence of the off-diagonal elements of the reduced density matrix of the system. We have established a connection between the quantum decoherence and the dissipative parameter arising from interaction with the phonon bath. The time-dependent behavior of quantum correlations has also been pointed out, showing continuous transition from quantum random walk to classical random walk, when dissipation increases.Comment: Submitted for publication. 17 pages, 6 figure

Un manuscrito desconocido de Grandes anales de quince días

En este artículo se da noticia del hallazgo de un nuevo manuscrito quevedesco (letra siglo XVII) que contiene Grandes anales de quince días y dos fragmentos de Mundo caduco y desvaríos de la edad: los razonamientos que los uscoques dirigen al archiduque don Fernando en petición de ayuda contra los ataques de los venecianos. Es novedad en este testimonio la presencia en los márgenes de abundantes ladillos que sintetizan la materia tratada. Aunque coincide en lo esencial con otras fuentes, ofrece un elevadísimo número de variantes propias: omisiones, cambios gramaticales y léxicos, alteración del orden de los elementos, en menor medida adiciones… Incurre en bastantes errores, como es habitual en los manuscritos. No ofrece, en conjunto, aportaciones relevantes, pero sí pequeños matices

El manuscrito Aldecoa: un testimonio desconocido y completo del Sueño de la muerte

En este artículo se difunde la feliz noticia del hallazgo de un nuevo manuscrito del Sueño de la muerte de Quevedo, con la particularidad de que es el único de los conservados (si exceptuamos otro hasta ahora desconocido del que daremos cuenta próximamente) en que la pieza aparece completa. La letra es del siglo XVII. Lleva por título Sueño de la Muerte y Visita del Marqués de Villena en la redoma. Tras ofrecer una detallada descripción del documento, se intenta establecer la filiación del texto, analizando las coincidencias y discrepancias con los restantes testimonios conocidos. Llegamos así a la conclusión de que es fruto de una cadena de contaminaciones. Entron- ca, en un momento u otro, con diversas fuentes manuscritas e impresas, que debieron de mezclarse en copias que no se conservan. Al final del estudio, se registran todas las variantes que ofrece respecto a la edición crítica de Crosby. This article gives notice of the discovery of a new complete manuscript of the Sueño de la muerte by Quevedo and announces another article with the study of a new one. This new manuscript is named as Aldecoa and comes from a copy of the XVIIIth century. Its complete title is Sueño de la Muerte y Visita del Marqués de Villena en la redoma. The article describes the manuscript and analyses the variants comparing it with other known testimonies. It can not be detailed the archetype from which the manuscript comes. At the end of the study, the author has put down all the variants in relation with Crosby’s critical edition

Hospederías Reales, otro manuscrito desconocido de los Sueños de Quevedo

En este artículo se da noticia del hallazgo de un nuevo manuscrito (letra siglo XVII), cuya notoriedad reside en el hecho de que es el único de todos los conocidos hasta la fecha que reúne los cinco Sueños quevedescos, junto con otras prosas. Encontramos aquí buen número de variantes diferentes de las que aparecen en otras fuentes. No suelen ser demasiado relevantes, pero hay frases que no figuran en ninguno de los testimonios conservados. En líneas generales, no mejora el texto; pero sí lo hace en algún caso concreto. Tiende a la omisión, particularmente en el Sueño del infierno, unida ahí a un excepcional número de lecturas no compartidas
